ok. I need a new tablet something fierce. the one i have is an old bamboo fun ...the second smallest size they made i think. anyways...its bunk trying to draw that small. also i think i am developing a love/hate relationship with drawing transformers...i fucking love transformers. and i love drawing them ....until i get done sketching and messy stuff and start inking then thats when the hate comes on. its so contradictory to my style , which is messy at best, to try doing TF lineart. i dont have the patience to path out all the line details with photoshop and i never finish inking anything printed cause i always find flaws at that stage and w

Thankya for the watch!
And hey, in regards to your journal, you're exactly right--practice makes perfect. When I first started drawing Transformers, I was pretty sure I must've been crazy, but I found it helps a lot to get real good at focusing on practicing portions of robot anatomy before tackling a full-body drawing. I can't even tell ya how many head sketches I have laying around, along with floating arms and legs, but it made it a lot easier to put it all together once I got down the basics.
Looking at what you've got posted, it seems like I don't even need to tell you much, you've clearly got your proportions and practical points like elbow/knee joints down (took me a long time XD). And, trust me, there've been plenty of times when I've gotten frustrated with the complexeties of drawing Transformers--but it's too fun to stop! XD
Your welcome,
And thank you for the advice. I have been trying more dynamic poses, none posted , with bots and find i occasionally need a sketch page for a certain part in order to get it right before carrying on. It is frustrating like you say but its good practice. If you can draw a mechanical being in an extremely animated pose then drawing fleshlings becomes a lot easier.
I totally agree, drawing people has become incredibly easier ever since I started putting my brain through the grinder and drawing Transformers, which I'm sure will prove to be a blessing in the long run! I don't know how many unposted/unfinished works I have of TF's, but it's more important to get your skills straight rather than focus on filling up your gallery. :) Best of luck!
